Baking My Favorite Pie- Pecan Pie

So, last week I baked my first pie ever and it turned out pretty well! My husband loved it and I made peach pie for my mother-in-law's birthday and she liked it! So I got inspired to bake some more pies and I thought about my favorite pie which is pecan pie. I gathered all ingredients I needed from my nearest grocery store and researched about how to make pecan pie and see if I can make my own version of it. So today I am baking pecan pie and hopefully when my husband comes home from work, it's done and ready for him.

So here are my own ingredients for Pecan Pie

Filling:

I cup sugar

1/4 cup packed brown sugar

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup light corn syrup

3 large eggs

2/3 stick melted butter

Crust:

pie crust dough sheets

-Pre - heat oven to 350 degrees

-Mix all ingredients together starting with sugar, salt, vanilla extract, corn syrup and eggs. Mix together until incorporated and then stir in melted butter.

-Set the crust on your pie dish

-Spread the pecan halves over it

-Cover the pie lightly with foil and bake for 35 minutes and remove foil and bake again for another 25-30 minutes

-Let sit for 2 hours

You can add some whip cream on top of it too!
