How To Find Your Zen When Everything Else Is In Chaos

Writer's picture: Karen LewisKaren Lewis

Have you ever felt like you are down in the dump and you just feel like everything everything in the universe is conspiring to make your life miserable? That no matter how hard you try to make things better , you always end up in a rut?

You can blame everything around you, heck you can even blame your nosy next door neighbor! But the you realize that doing that will not make things better and will not change the situation.

Here are some tips to remember to stay cool and still find your zen even when things go south:

Think before you speak- Saying things you can't take back is a terrible thing and will make you feel rotten to the core. So before you say something you will regret later, be mindful pf what you say.

Avoid impulsive decisions- It's easy to freak out about something and make impulsive decisions. Before you do, try and take a deep breath and calm yourself down. Gather your thoughts and think about how every decision you make is going to impact your life or somebody else's.

Avoid large purchases- The last thing you want to do is splurge on an expensive purchase and then get yourself in financial trouble. Instead, use this to save up some more money for something you have been eyeing on later on.

Take everything with a grain of salt- Don't take things literally. With so many things falling down on you and going south, there is so much room for error and you can be prone to this. This is the last thing you want to happen. If things don't go as planned, just let it roll and move on.

Be patient- Even when it's impossible. I know it's easier said than done. I am a bit of an impatient person too and I have been working on it. And believe it or not, good things, most unfortunately don't always come down the pipeline all at once.

Take your mind off it- Might actually alleviate things and concerns. You can't just sit and brood all day because that's what's expected. If you think you need a break, then for heaven's sake, take one!

Positive thinking-It might not solve everything but you need to keep your hopes up and your spirits up. Reminding yourself that good things are coming your way will actually help you get motivated and attract good and positive energy.

Treat yourself to a day or night of de-stressing- Giving your self a much deserved break and me-time is not a bad idea. Treat yourself to activities that will help you unwind after a rough day. Make yourself a nice meal, or a nice dessert. or draw yourself a bubble bath or find a sappy movie movie to watch with your husband or wife or friend. Do whatever bursts your bubble!

Be all in- Be all in. There are no half ways. If you get yourself into something, be ready to give yourself all in and not half hearted.

Try doing these things and you might just end up going through rough times with ease.

What are the things you do to stay in control when things go haywire?

XOXO,

Karen
