5 Reasons Why I Love Planning

I have mentioned planning and my love for planners in some of my blog posts before and I have been doing so for the longest time and I love it! I want to share with you why planning has helped me get organised with a lot of things and why I believe it helps you get your life a little bit more organised. I don't just use my planners to organize schedules and activities but I also use it for free writing like diaries and journals and I just write anything and everything that's in my mind in it. Through the years I've had different planners that I love and some of them I still continue to use. I've also collected planner supplies like stickers and sticky notes and cards and all that good stuff!

So here are 5 Reason why I think Planning can benefit you...

Boosts Memory

They say that there is relationship between the hand and the brain. Words are representation of our ideas and forming words and letters causes our minds to create and re create ideas whilst writing. When we write or make lists and stuff to do...we exercise our brains into remembering and processing things. I don't just write schedules and lists of things to do or buy when I plan. I also have a section for my writing. Sort of like a diary. So everything that comes into my mind, an idea. A thought.A feeling that I want to remember, I write it in my planner.

Thinking critically and improving communication

Being able to communicate effectively how you fell on paper is the best thing. Sometimes you have so many ideas and thoughts in your head and being able to clarify what you mean is great, not only for your own peace of mind but how you communicate with others as well. When I plan my schedules and tasks for the month or the week, I am able to critically think about doing the best way possible to manage my time and the things that I need to get done.

Creativity

This, I think is the one of the best parts of planning. Being able to showcase your creativity. It's not just about the lists of things that you need to do or the schedules and the tasks but you can also play around with being artsy and creative with your planner. There are a lot of planner society pages and instagram accounts that I follow about other planners who have the same hobbies and likes that I do. I get the ideas on how to decorate any planner and how to make it more interesting and fun! This gives me joy and makes me happy. Planner supplies and kits are easily available at any school supply stores or even your local dollar stores.

Self confidence

When you write about a positive experience, you can relieve the experience and this help reaffirm your ability. That's just about writing the free idea stuff. When you actually do the planning and scheduling tasks and activities, you can be confident enough that you will get things done on time and everything is organised and sorted out so you can figure out free time that you need for yourself or your family. Even that free time can be scheduled in your planner if you want to!

Self discipline and 'me-time'

In order to actually get a good feeling and write everything you want to and organize your life at least for the week or month, you do really have to focus. Planning and scheduling your activities and will help you practice self-discipline and actually sitting down to do that will give you some bit of 'me-time'. Journaling/writing/planning brings you into a sort of mindful state and there's a strong link between mindfulness and happiness! More writing=more happiness!

XOXO,

Karen
