Spring Wedding Attire, Decoded-Western Theme

One of the most fun, and also the most agonizing part of being a wedding guest is figuring out what to wear. Even if the invitation clearly states a dress code, it can be tricky to find the appropriate dress.

There are several types of spring weddings like dressy day time, formal church wedding, festive spring wedding, semi-formal, the day time casual spring wedding or the personalized themed wedding. Last week me and the hubby attended my great aunt's wedding in Beloit, Wisconsin and as you can tell, I have had a tricky time figuring out what to wear. Although it was cowboy-themed wedding and was set in the country with all the ranch-type, 'cowboy feel' setting, I wanted something fashionable and elegant at the same time keep me a little bit warm because the weather here is still transitioning from winter to spring. So we are kind of in between if I may say so myself. Wisconsin is in the Mid-West and cowboy inspired weddings are a thing in these parts of the States.

After scouring the internet and several online fashion stores, I finally decided on wearing a navy blue lace midi dress with really delicate and pretty flowery lace design on it and a denim jacket to go with it. And of course, the cowboy...well, in my case, 'cowgirl' boots! I think it's what put my outfit together. I decided to go subtle with the jewelries and just wore these elegant statement earrings.

Hubby and I wanted to look 'matchy-matchy' so he opted for the same color scheme of plaid long sleeved shirt and the traditional black leather cowboy boots and the cowboy hat to go with it. I would rather say that my husband looked dashing in his outfit!

The ceremony was set in the country of Beloit, Wisconsin in a ranch and barn where the environment was appropriate for the theme. The ceremony was simple with over 20 guests mostly family and close friends of the bride and groom.

It was a a simple yet romantic setting. The snow was falling in the background and yes it was chilly outside but the white backdrop made everything look so romantic. Especially with the presence of family and friends, the event was indeed special and meaningful.

XOXO,

Karen
