On My Mind - It's Actually Time To Laugh Out Loud

I know guys. It's a jungle out there. Life is tough. And rough.

Let's face it. It's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life and all the aesthetics around us. Everything is just so superficial that for the most part we forget about the real essence of some of the most important things in life - like laughter.

So I woke up this morning and I see through my bedroom window a blanket of white tapestry outside. Holy smokes! It is snowing! But then again, I remember, I'm living in Wisconsin. This is how we roll , people! While the rest of the West and East Coast are enjoying warm and sunny 75 degree weather, we are piling up with snow. Forecasts for today-25 degrees with heavy downpour of snow-all-freaking day! Ok, enough with the weather shenanigans. So I decided to just cuddle up in bed, turn on the TV and flip through channels and TV shows when I came across a romantic comedy show. Personally, I'm not really a fan of 'rom-com' movies but hey, I decided to click on it anyway. And I got a hell of a laugh out loud!

When was the last time you actually laughed out loud? Like really burst into laughter and genuinely enjoyed a good laugh and not just used the abbreviations LOL with an emoji to send a text message? If we forget to see the lighter side of life, then we surely destined to be doomed.

Here's what I want to throw out there: let's do away with writing LOL. Let's just forget about it. At the dawn of the internet, let's admit, it was cute. A sweet little shorthand to let your correspondent know that you thought something was funny. At first, I thought it stood for laughing on line. See, that's how fun it is. Open to interpretation, flexible, easygoing, cool. But have you seen someone laughing really, really hard they almost sh**t their pants? It borders on disturbing and uncontrollable. That raw sensation is precisely what AHAHAHAHAHA!! gives. LOL is sweet but it's just too polite.

So laugh out loud! Let it go and just enjoy your laugh. We should be happy that we are living in an age when AHAHAHAHA should not only be accepted but also embraced. I know I'm talking about something pretty light out here but I honestly think it represents something more powerful. Women are speaking up. We are making our voices heard. In the same way that LOL is a demure style of communicating, AHAHAHAHA is the thunderous roll of a feeling that is alive and passionate, one you don't feel the need to keep in check.

We need that now. A lot. Because like I said, the world is a tough place. We need to find laughter where we can, and we need to celebrate that laughter.
