Florals In The Winter
I am a huge layering fan and no matter what the season, I like to layer pieces of clothing and as you all know, my signature fashion statement really is the blazer among all others. In the colder season however, I am able to play with layers and pieces of clothing. I combine a lot with each other - and above each other. As I am always freezing this is one of the things that makes winter bearable. So this "technique" is also quite practical for wearing summer clothes in winter. No need to store your favorite dresses in your wardrobe and make them wait for another season to be worn - or not to be worn anymore. So even my favorite spring dresses are not shoved into the back of my closet in the winter time. I like to wear them with leather jackets or coats.
Flowers are not only for spring or summer
Pretty sure you all know the best quote from The Devil wears Prada: Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking! I prefer flowers in a vase and not on my clothes and especially not in spring. For this dress I am making an expectation and even love the florals here… but wearing it in winter instead of spring hehe. Revolutionary as I am!
We know winter isn't the time to bring in flowers but when the days get really dreary and gray and days become short and cold, there;s something nice about wearing an outfit that make you happy. If that means a rose here or a daisy there, I'm all for it. But since wearing florals in the winter is a bit of a challenge, I always opt for layering pieces. After all, the temperatures are low so you still need to bundle up.
Here I am wearing a favorite spring time dress but I layered up with a cable knit sweater with billowy sleeves and sinched the dress with a belt to give it some shape. I paired the whole outfit with ankle boots and some cross body crock embossed bag. I love neutrals in the fall and winter so this outfit is something I really love wearing.
What do you love wearing in the winter to spice things up?
XOXO,
Karen
