We All Just Need Time
I took another sip of hot green tea matcha. The hot temperature in my mouth and the warmth of the cup that resonates to my hands as it heats my cold fingers up in this 20 degree weather was satisfying enough to make me content that I am just at home. It's a cold and dreary day today. It's raining. A usual Wisconsin setting in the winter times. The forecast is rainy all weekend. The sound of falling water tapping against the window and how it generally looks as it wets the leaves on the ground is somehow relaxing. There is some sort of comfort that comes with the rain. Like a song to our soul, it soothes away worries and stress. It calms the mind. It creates a feeling of refuge under the shelters we gather to stay dry.
Anyways, All I really want to say is...we got one thing right. Everyone just needs more time. Time to conquer, time to sleep. Time to relax, time to think. Time to seize our goals, time to gather our thoughts. Time is an element, an element we can't own; only live within.
Time is eternal, yet short. Time is the new luxury. And the older we get, the more that it seems to be something we can afford less and less. The moments we have to breath on this earth passes beneath our feet like flood waters in the storm. It can drown us if we're not steadfast. It can also push us forward if we allow ourselves to overcome obstacles and just glide through it.
Time also heals. It provides clarity. It provides rest and refreshment as we sleep through the night. It provides the chance to go through the painful experience and the luxury of looking back at it and emerging brand new from that experience. As much as you're hurting, it is much worse if you cannot allow yourself the nourishment of time.
At times when we feel like we are a wreck and our souls are drowning, time will make it better. We can learn to do whatever it takes. We can be the best version of ourselves and with time, you can exactly be who you want to be.
In time, all things will play out. Things will turn out the way we want it to. And I will be right here. I just need time. Of all the gifts you were given, I pray you give yourself the gift of time, so that you may use your other gifts wisely.
XOXO,
Karen
