This + That, Mostly This

I guess most of us can agree that it feels good to get ready these days. Even if it's just to pick up groceries or coffee - or in my case, tea. Having been in a time warp like we are all going through now, and being quarantined and confined mostly to our house due to the pandemic, our lives these days mostly involve limited trips out to the groceries, banks or other public places. Our social lives have "mostly" been thwarted these days. I for one, cannot wait to jump to 2021.

So...how have we all been doing lately? I hope everyone is in good spirits even if it is truly hard most days. Trying to cope up with the times and the demands of everyday life and our "new normal" can be a lot stressful than we ever thought. But that's life. We just have to make the most of it.

I have been busy with work and taking care of patients that are affected with the corona virus, plus the changes that happen at work everyday has taken a toll on me lately. Both emotional and physical.

I had developed some skin rash on and off for the last 3 weeks all over my body and for some reason I can't determine what triggers it. I know I have used the same skin care products and the same detergent for laundry. I don't know of any allergies to food or drugs that I might have so it has been giving me too much stress just even thinking about it. I do not discount the fact however, that it might be caused by stress. But I do have an appointment with my dermatologist in the coming week and I cannot wait for this to be over with.

Ok, enough of my medical issues! Haha! Let's talk about healthy things..happy things. Yes, we do have to feed our body and our thoughts with happy things!

Lately, while I have not had more time to get to my exercise routine, I have been trying to do some sit - ups when I get up in the morning and jog a couple times in a week. I also take our dog out for long walks so I think that will suffice in the exercise department. Foodwise, I have been trying to eat less carbs and add more fiber and veggies into our diet. Plus, I am an avid supplement fan. Probiotics have helped me regulate my bowel movements (excuse me for my bluntness) and keeping my digestive system working good.

One more happy thing that happened to my family is the addition of baby Roman. Congratulations to my sister-in-law, Sarah for a bouncing baby boy! My sister in-law just had a baby boy a couple of days ago and he is just the apple of everyone's eyes these days. An addition to your family is always a warm feeling and a baby is always a blessing. So my husband and I have been back and forth, here and there visiting our nephew every other day lately.

And then there's this mini birthday party I am planning to throw for my husband. His birthday is coming up the end of August and we are having a small get together with his Masonic brothers. Do not worry, I will make sure that safety practices will be observed such as masks, hand sanitizers and proper social distancing. So that is something I have been busy with, in addition to work and home!

So you guys. It's this and that, but mostly...this!

XOXO,

Karen
