Date Night With Hubby
Zach and I have been married 3 years to the date now and while to some people it may be considered as still in the 'honeymoon phase' of marriage, we've actually had our fair share of ups and downs that a normal regular married couple might face throughout their marriage.
I must say that three years into the marriage, we are still getting to know each other. Although admittedly, we also have learned a lot about each other too. Marriage is always a 'work in progress'. It's always a learning curve for both the husband and wife. And while we are our own individuals, we also have to be conscious of the fact that we are in a partnership with the man or woman we are married to.
The past year has been a roller coaster, for all of us. Between a full time job in healthcare and a full time wife (that's how I see me as a wife! wink!), and having to deal with all the new normal that seems to have been imposed on all of us, and everything in between, I can honestly say that there are times when I am almost at my wits end! Sometimes I just want to disappear into the air and just be transported to some happy place-a cafe in Paris, a little 'hole in the wall' bookstore in London perhaps? Or just a peaceful park in the middle of somewhere. Just me-by myself.
Ok, enough with the day dreaming. Let's get back to reality. Although I will make sure I will be able to do all those in the future again. So, what I'm trying to say is, in the middle of all these chaos and hustle and bustle of everyday life, me and the hubby try to find ways and means to stay sane, and still have time for each other. Friday nights are usually a good date night especially when we both don't have to work the weekend.
Last night, hubby took me to a nice dinner at a local restaurant at the Dells. After doing a little bit of shopping and enjoying the Christmas tree decorations at a local mall, we were both hungry for some good food.
Of course I couldn't let a nice Christmas tree like this pass up so we had to take the proverbial photo.
We had dinner after the shopping and I ordered sirloin steak with fully loaded baked potatoes on the sides. I like my steak well done so that is how I always have it. Zach ordered the same meal but had the 8 oz steak with jumbo shrimps.
Of course I made room for desert! I had chocolate peanut butter cake.
XOXO,
Karen
