How I Celebrated My Birthday, In The Advent of The Corona Virus

This year was a very unexpected turn around of events for all us. With the pandemic surging and possibly having a second wave of it, a lot of 'life' as we call it has been put on hold or cancelled. And most of us can definitely agree to that.

So this year, I celebrated my 38th birthday yes, 38th, quite differently in way. I usually just spend my birthday with family and my husband and just blow a candle in my birthday cake while I wish for more birthdays to come and blah blah.

Although this year, it was the same for the most part, I felt indifferent. I felt sad in a way that not only was I away from family, but because the rest of the world is in turmoil. And I just didn't feel quite right celebrating my birthday. But my husband made sure I did and he made sure I still felt special and happy on this day.

I just decided on a quiet day with my husband and just enjoy a breakfast to begin with and to start the day right. So we went over to Ihop in the Dells and had an early morning breakfast. I have not been to Ihop in quite a while so that day, I really fancied going there, Their hot choco with creme on top made me contented already!

My husband got me a birthday cake and of course the candles! The candles just had to be my age! Hahaha! Thank you to the hubby for that

Aside from the cake I also received presents from him and my family and for that I am grateful. To be honest, I am just grateful for life. For family, my job and everything else in between.

Overall, it was just a pretty regular day. I was just content to be blessed with another year to spend with family and loved ones and hopfully next year when the pandemic is over, I can have a more eventful birthday bash, Ehem1! ehem! calling hubby!

XOXO,

Karen
