Why I Love Fall - Summer's Last Wave Goodbye
" Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall "
- F. Scott Fitzgerald
So here we are again in between that transition from summer to winter and the fall season just around the corner. Each season is beautiful in it's own unique way, but autumn is more likely my favorite. The beautiful leaves falling in all sorts of color, the warm comforting smell of pumpkin spice and apple cinnamon, delicious holiday dinners and of course fall fashion! - just some of the things why I love fall so much.
Here in Wisconsin, summer has been pretty nice to us compared to the last couple of years because we have actually had longer summer days of sunshine and warm weather this year. But, as all good things come to end, another good thing is about to begin. Fall season.
And in the spirit of getting ready for this superior season, grab a pumpkin spice latte and gather around as I am poetic about fall. Here are some reasons why I love fall.
Mother nature shows off her beautiful colors
I love seeing nature change around me - and the autumn season is like painting beautiful and exotic colors on a wide spread of white canvass. Just seeing the leaves colors change into vibrant yellows, reds and purples makes our world absolutely stunning!
Fall home decorating
I love decorating for all seasons and fall is especially exciting to decorate fall. Each year I determine my fall theme based on how I generally feel. This year I am planning on decorating with hues of greens and whites for the pumpkins and a bit of oranges and reds for the leaves.
Fall holidays and being thankful on thanksgiving
A day to celebrate and remember the things that we have been blessed with- thanksgiving is a special occasion for families to come together and gather and be thankful of all that we have and have not. Thanksgiving dinners can be stressful but I enjoy making it happen for family and friends.
Fall fashion and all the layering
For some reason, I love shopping during fall. Overloading on leggings, flannels, plaid shirts and cute ponchos and scarves! Not to mention I love wearing my booties in the fall. My fashion game is at its point during this season and I enjoy it!
Fall foliage photography
I love taking pictures and I love photography. I may not be a pro but I am a photography enthusiast. During the fall, you can take some of the most stunningly amazing photos. It's like the whole world around you is showing off for the camera.
Fall scent
Kicking the doors of Bath and Body Works and smelling the absolutely amazing scents of pumpkin spice, apple cinnamon, sandalwood and ambered oud is just making my heart beat so fast in excitement.
All the pumpkins and pumpkin patches
I get giddy everytime we plan to go visit a pumpkin patch and pick out pumpkins for Halloween. Some of my most happy memories of me and my husband was visiting pumpkin patches. The hay rides are a bonus too and it just brings me joy to be out there and pick the perfect pumpkin to carve and decorate.
Apple picking
Next to visiting pumpkin patches, I also love picking out apples in the fall. Surrounded by trees and trees of apples in orchards is an amazing experience. Eating a caramel covered apple on a stick makes it even more exciting!
Taking in all of the fall vibes
Fall is the season when you can sit outside your deck or porch and enjoy a hot cup of chocolate, spiced latte or tea for all you tea lovers out there like me. The weather is cool and perfect and nature is putting on a show for you. It's the perfect opportunity to disconnect from our busy lives and reconnect with nature around us. Get lost in nature and enjoy it!
Watching fall movies and cozying up
Chilly temperatures outside will make you want to stay indoors and enjoy watching classic movies or steam your favorite fall series online next to a hot cup of your favorite drink while you cozy up in comfortable and warm PJ's and blankets.
Catching up on your reading
I always find myself reaching out for a good book during these times. When you try to cozy up in bed or in a comfy nook in your house while the temperatures outside are chilly, reading a good book while enjoying a cup of tea or my favorite apple cider with cinnamon is one of my favorite indoor things to do.
So, what are your favorite things about fall?
XOXO,
Karen
