Karen In San Remo, Italy- A visit to the City Of Flowers.
How about a day trip to the Italian Riviera? Why, yes please I would love to! When me and my friend were at Nice, France, we decided to go on a day trip to San Remo, Italy which is about two hours road travel from the city of Nice. Our B&B host in Nice was kind enough to offer us a ride to San Remo when he found out the we were planning to go there for a day trip. The ride going there was a very pleasant one. The scenery was breath taking and the trip itself was an experience.
San Remo, is a small city in the west coast of Italy, known as a tourist destination in the Italian Riviera. The Casino San Remo, which was built in the beginning of the 20th century is one of the main attractions of these place. Famous people like movie stars and other personalities have been known to visit this place.
The city has an old feeling to itself, with all the beautiful architecture surrounding the place but yet it had a certain vibe of modern and eclectic touch. The restaurants and shops that align the streets are a nice way to spend the day and just watch the people and tourists that pass by. Me and my friend decided to just walk around the place and take in the beautiful sights of this amazing city. Everywhere you go, there always seem to be a good spot to take pictures and admire its beauty.
San Remo is famous for their production of flowers as evidenced by large surrounding areas of greenhouses and every year large quantities of flowers are sent to Stockholm to decorate the venue of the annual Nobel Prize Award Ceremony and Banquet.
Of course it was not a complete Italian experience if we did not sample the famous Italian gelato. The Italians not only know their pasta but they certainly know their ice cream!
By the end of the day, after exploring the city, my friend and I decided to check out the waters. We went to a nearby beach just a stones throw away from the main streets and decided to spend time just watching the waters and enjoying the breeze.
A truly amazing experience in a truly amazing place!
