Karen In Nice, France ; Monte Carlo, Monaco : A Taste of the Life of the Rich and Famous
I had just been on my recent travel to the beautiful city of Niece, France and Monte Carlo, Monaco a couple of weeks ago and I can still remember the stunning picturesque view of the French Riviera. I spent 3 days in this beautiful city with a good friend and colleague from work. The plan all started over a hearty full English breakfast and a hot cup of green tea at a local cafe just one block away from work. Ken and I had just been discussing how we both had a couple of days off ahead of us and we wanted to go somewhere and relax. Given the hectic and stressful nature of our work, I thought it was again time for me to emprise on another travel adventure. We both agreed that Niece and Monte Carlo was the perfect place!
This picturesque seaside towns of the Mediterranean have ever since lured the rich, the famous and the beautiful to the French Riviera. The area's golden sunshine, warm weather, clear turquoise waters and pastel-colored bistros also make the Cote d Azure a perfect spot for a romantic getaway.
We began our adventure in Southern France with a beautiful sunrise over Porto de Nice. The bright blue Mediterranean Sea settles between the high peaks and green lining cliffs. Each has its own personality and equally amazing. A breath taking site to see!
The Cote de Azure polarizes opinion like few places in France. To most, it remains to be the most glamorous Mediterranean playgrounds; to others it is an overdeveloped victim of its own hype. Yes, at its best- in between the gaps of urban sprawl and unbelievably blue waters after which the coast is named from which many artists and painters have drew inspiration from-it captivates still.
NICE- The capital of the riviera, and the fifth largest city in France, lives off its glittering reputation. Far too large to be considered simply a beach resort, it has all the advantages as well as the disadvantages of a major city: superb top of the line shopping, fine dining and drinking, bars and restaurants, but also crime, graffiti and traffic all set against a backdrop of blue skies and glistening clear waters.
Panoramic views everywhere we turned.
Colorful houses that lined the coast of the French Riviera
MONTE CARLO, MONACO-Viewed from a distance, there is no mistaking the cluster of towers, that is Monaco. This tiny municipality was rescued postwar and redeveloped from economic decline. This tiny state, no bigger than London's Hyde Park, retains its comic opera independence. It has been in the hands of the autocratic Grimaldi family since the thirteenth century, and in theory would become part of France if the royal bloodline were to die out.
Monte Carlo is the perfect mix of the excitement of the city life and the quiet old time charm. There's stunning view in narrow cobblestone shopping streets, fabulous food, garden spas, larger-than-life-hotels and everything in the air seems magical.
Shopping is definitely a must do in this city as they have the top of the line high end brands in the fashion industry. You name it, they have it.
The Casino Monte Carlo- where the rich and famous play and have fun.
The Monte Carlo Casino is the obvious first choice of things to do in this beautiful stunning place.
