My All Time Favorite Appetizer-Mozarella Caprese & Tomato Basil Bruschetta
I always try and make it a point to eat healthy and prepare healthy meals for my husband everyday. I want to share my all time favorite snack/breakfast/dinner. I think this appetizer can be eaten whenever and wherever.
I learned a bout this recipe when I was in London and a friend introduced me to it when we were out dining at an Italian restaurant. Ever since, I have been eating this food whenever I want to. I taught myself how to make this recipe to as close as the authentic one.
First of all, I want to say that a Bruschetta is an Italian term that means crispy bread. It's a large piece of bread that is cooked over coals or a grill. My favorite thing to do is rub a Bruschetta with garlic to give it a nice flavor. Caprese on the other hand is an Italian salad of fresh mozarella, basil and tomatoes seasoned with salt and olive oil or a reduction of balsamic vinegar. Personally, I love using balsamic vinegar with olive oil.
How To Make This Appetizer:
1 Basil fresh leaves
2 Tomatoes, ripe
4 Slices Ciabatta bread or any bread you like
Fresh buffalo mozarella cheese
Olive oil
Balsamic vinegar
salt and pepper to taste
I personally think that this is such an easy appetizer to prepare. It's flavorful, sweet and savory all topped with a decadent balsamic glaze. All of these flavors together make a wonderful place.
