How We Celebrated Valentines Day

"Valentines Day" is to an extent, I should say is a Hallmark Holiday. Gifts, candies, flowers and fancy dinners have become the expected means of celebrating the day. There is absolutely nothing wrong with all of those and to be honest, my husband made sure I had the flowers, the gifts and the chocolates. As for the dinner, I... yours truly, surprised him with a dinner date-at home. We unfortunately had the bug that day. we both were sick and had the flu so we had to stay home. But that didn't stop us from celebrating Valentines Day.

Most of us, women most especially, get so fired up with celebrating Valentines with our significant other and who can blame them? It's the one day you can celebrate and look and feel amazing on the most romantic day of the year! Again, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. But let us not get caught in the frenzy of Valentines day by spending more than you want or can afford. But by all means...if you want to and can certainly afford it, fell free to do so.

Ok, let's talk about what's important...Valentines day is another day to value your beloved. It is an opportunity to create rituals of your own year after year and add to overtime. Your rituals can be outside of the perpetual fancy gifts and dinners and flowers... you can be creative in your own way. A simple recipe for dinner shared with your partner or spouse over a candle light just at home can be as special as one in a fancy restaurant. Or watching a movie you both enjoy and sparks your interest while you cuddle up in your cozy bed or lounge in the living room in front of the fireplace is also a romantic way to do it.

This year, as always, is special. I am lucky that I have a husband who goes out of his way to make me feel special and romantic. He got me this gold necklace with a heart locket where I can put our pictures in.

He also got me this eternal 24 karat gold eternity rose. I have never received anything like that before and I felt really special and happy to have received it from my husband. It's a natural stem of red rose dipped in certified 24 karat gold. It perfectly combines the beauty of a red rose and the magnificence of gold that comes with a certificate of authenticity. Talk about a stunning symbol of love that lasts an eternity!

Of course he also surprised me with a delivery of a fresh bouquet of flowers the day of. Nothing feels more romantic than fresh flowers delivered to your doorstep!

The important thing about Valentines Day is that it's another day to celebrate your beloved in a slightly more special way. But show your love everyday.

XOXO,

Karen
