5 Books To Read When You're Soul Searching
You feel lost, You wonder who you are, why you're doing what you're doing and how you'll ever get to the next place. At times like this, it helps to have a support system. A family you can count on, or a friend, or a community. But it's also nice to have a bunch of helpful books to read when you're soul searching and looking for answers.
I guess that depends on how you define soul-searching. For me though, soul searching is finding a way to be the best version of myself. Life is a rubble-filled, not well-paved journey and soul searching is the act of twisting and turning on that journey. So here are my 5 favorite books for soul-searching.
Eat, Pray, Love- This book is a tale of self-discovery. It can easily come off as a shallow tale of wanderlust but it doesn't.. But trust me thus book is inspiring and if you're looking for soul-searching book to read on your next plane ride, I suggest you read this.
The Five People You Meet In Heaven- Mitch Albom is one of my favorite authors. The Five People You Meet In Heaven is tear-jerking, raw, vulnerable and honest . It is heavy but it brings several questions to the table as points of discussions.
The Subtle Art Of Not Giving A Fuck- I am sort of in a love-hate relationship with this book to be honest. While I'm not a fan of Manson's curse-filled, blunt writing style, I feel there's genuine advice hidden within the constant harshness.
The Alchemist-One of my all-time authors, Paulo Coelho shares how a man wanted something more in life. Santiago, a shepherd boy has a recurring dream about a child and he asks a Romani fortune teller in a nearby town and she tells him that a dream is a prophecy.
The Secret- This book has stirred discussions and conversations amongst all classes of people and I can see why. It is basically based on the belief of the law of attraction which claims that thoughts can change a person's life directly. I feel like if you are needing some positivity in your life, this book can open you up to a lot of self-discovery.
Enjoy reading!
XOXO,
