5 Reasons Why Every Woman Should Own a Louis Vuitton Speedy

When investing in a designer bag, you want the decision to be well thought and not on a whim. Chances are, you are browsing websites, scoping out reviews and blogs about luxury designer bags and taking into consideration the different options you have, all while keeping your budget in mind.

I have a few designer bags that I have invested on over time but the very first luxury designer handbag I ever purchased was the Louis Vuitton Speedy in a size 35. I love this bag so much that it was what inspired me to start my journey on collecting luxury designer handbags.

First, a little background. The Speedy was launched in 1930 as the 'Express'. It was inspired by the era's travel revolution, as this bag is a traveler's best companion. It was created for the girl about town, and to this day, that holds true.

Even though the Speedy was released in the 1930's, it's arguable that it didn't really become coveted and timeless as it is today until Audrey Hepburn was seen with one in the 1960's. After Hepburn made the Speedy an iconic finishing touch to any outfit , the fate of this bag was sealed and it remains incredibly popular to this day. In fact, the LV Speedy is one of the most popular purchased LV bags in history.

There truly isn't one reason NOT to own this bag and here's a breakdown of why I think it's a great bag to own.

Size options- The Speedy comes in not 1, not 2, not 3 but 4 size options to choose from depending on your needs and how you want to it to function and cater your needs. It's nice to have a variety of sizes to choose from and while it may not seem like big differences between the sizes, you still appreciate the fact that you can select a smaller or a bigger one. So it comes in sizes 25, 30, 35 and 40. These numbers are referencing to the front of the bag measurement in centimeters. Thus, it's nice that the Speedy offers that range.

Versatility-This bag, quite literally does go with anything and everything. Works for many occasions like business, travel, everyday casual or slightly dressed up. It has the space to hold more than enough of your essentials, but isn't overbearing which makes it even more ideal.

Durability-All Louis Vuitton bags are of the best quality, and this is just another reason the Speedy makes a great purchase. This bag will last a lifetime and the silhouette will never go out of style.

Leather options- Along with size and versatility, the bags comes in many leather options to choose from. You can choose from other Louis Vuitton iconic leathers such as Damier Azur Canvas and Damier Monogram Canvas, among many others.

It's a Classic- Audrey Hepburn with her LV Monogram Speedy 25 bag with its notorious monogram canvass and classic silhouette has been in style for years and years now, so once you get it, you can be sure it will look stylish and fashionable as long as you have it.

As basic as it may sound, A classic Louis Vuitton handbag might just be my designer weakness. I will never regret buying an LV bag because it is an investment and it is something I can hand down to my daughters in years to come!
